Couples Counselling
Couples counselling can really help people to understand their relationship patterns. It enables individuals to look at the way they act and behave in the relationship. The more they understand about themselves – the more equipped they are to make active positive changes.
Couples counselling can help people to change destructive patterns and to then move forward with their relationship in a different way. The goal of the work is always a healthier and more fulfilling relationship.
Couples counselling provides an objective space with a trained and experienced professional. A space where a couple can explore their feelings, fears, and concerns. Where they can both be truly heard and valued. It gives the opportunity to settle any anger, to let go of any pain and to improve communication.
Our experienced team of couple’s therapists
Here at your counselling service, we have a very experienced and dynamic team. The following team members are qualified to work with couples.
Hayley Ryan
I am an experienced and dynamic therapist who works not only with individuals, but also with couples. I have been in the field for nearly 20 years and I bring diverse experience and training to the work that I do with couples.
The relationship is always the focus. Both individuals will always feel heard, valued and respected. I work objectively to improve communication and understanding. I enable couples to truly hear one another again, and to relate in a calmer and more compassionate way towards one another. I help couples make their way through difficult and challenging times, working on areas such as trust, intimacy, communication and understanding. Together we work towards creating healthier and more fulfilling relationships.
In addition to this I also provide mediation and support for those couples that have decided they can no longer be together. Sometimes the most difficult decision is the best one for both individuals, and when this is the case, I provide a neutral space to work through the challenging areas around this.

You may be or have been in relationships that are difficult, where you do not feel heard, understood or noticed. Whether it is romantic or sexual relationship, a family relationship, such as parent, child or sibling, work colleagues or friends, you can have difficult periods or feel there have always been area that are problematic. Whatever brings you to relationship counselling, you will both be heard and validated, and helped to understand yourself and each other, by a therapist who has no agenda and is at both of your sides.
Jonathan Eddie
It was through the desire to become a couple’s therapist that I began my counselling training. Once qualified, I went on to complete Langley Training’s RELATE accredited couple’s course.
There’s a saying in couples therapy that states ‘the relationship is the client’, and while I fully support this, I also believe a relationship is made up of two individuals, and that our unique life experiences will profoundly affect our needs, our triggers, and the way we communicate with one another.
My goal is to guide my clients towards gaining greater empathy, understanding and compassion for their partners, so that they can not only re-find their connection, but create a healthier, more fulfilling future together.
Debbie Blundell
I am an experienced, qualified and dynamic therapist. I have really enjoyed my work with individual clients and as a result I decided to go on to train and qualify as a therapist that now works with couples. I currently work with couples who need some assistance and help with their relationship. Whether it’s to navigate through a break up or to re connect with one another, I am here to facilitate a conversation in a calm environment and to take the relationship forward in a constructive and positive way.

I am a qualified and experienced Integrative Counsellor, which means I use skills from several schools of psychotherapy. I am committed to continual professional development, continually training and gaining new skills and am currently completing my certificate in working with couples, having recently completed my level 5 Advanced Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling. My background is in nursing and public health, and I also have a degree in Psychology.
Sometimes our relationships can be difficult, we may have developed patterns of being that are no longer helpful, or we can often find that our needs just aren’t being met. Whatever it is that you are struggling with, I can offer a safe and non-judgemental space for you both to talk about what isn’t working in your relationship and help you come to a more peaceful place, whether that be together or apart.
